Direct Composites: Minimally traumatic preparations and restorative protocols workshop.
Participants will have the opportunity to perform minimally traumatic preparations and direct class I and II composites restorations utilizing the Bioclear™ matrix systems and 3M Filtek Supreme™ flowable and paste composites. Participants will receive a complimentary bur kit including Fissurotomy™ burs, composites, and matrix systems. Participants may think twice about buying an in office Cad Cam porcelain system after seeing the possibilities in this renaissance in direct composites. Those who own Cad Cam will add an incredible tools and techniques for simplifying preparations, and seating of their porcelain restorations.
Precision Porcelain Preparations Workshop:
Synopsis: Porcelain laminate preparations have gone through several generational changes. There is significant disagreement among clinicians regarding preparation design, compounded by ever changing materials. The process remains unpredictable. Full coverage porcelain restorations are now undergoing a revolution because of the advent of zirconia-based prosthetics. New challenges and unforeseen possibilities await.
Participants will prepare a variety of porcelain laminate and full coverage preparations with the operating microscope. New for this course, the participants may also prepare a three unit posterior bridge for the new Lava all ceramic system. The rationale for the variations will be detailed. Different porcelain types such as feldspathic and pressed ceramics and zirconia ceramics are addressed as to their impact on preparation design, seating and cement selection. In addition to hands on exercises, multiple cases will are presented to demonstrate:
- Incorporation of digital photography
- Modern treatment planning
- Vertical dimension
- Temporization
- Precise seating
- Pontic site development
- How advanced magnification and biomimetics together are breaking old stereotypes
